Wennmoth Park is one
of the most popular and most frequented parks in our community.
Families go there to picnic, swim, build sand castles and
boat. However, because of its popularity we sometimes forget
about its delicacy.
The park is located in a high water traffic area and is
subject to rapid erosion from the waves created by this
water traffic. Maintenance of the park is done by our wonderful
volunteers. Usually twice a year these volunteers remove
the weeds from the swimming area and replace the sand for
the beach.
A little help from all of us will make our volunteers work
a little easier and protect our beautiful park:
• The rocks along the beach and bulkhead help slow
the erosion. Please don’t let your children and grandchildren
remove these rocks even though “they are so much fun”
to play with in the water and on the beach.
• When boating to and from and around the park, please
observe the “No Wake” signs to help slow the
erosion. (Tell your friends and guests)
• Pets should always be on a leash when you bring
them to the park and please pick up after them in order
for the next visitors to the park to enjoy it as much as
you did.
