Activities

The Blue Lake community provides a variety of recreation activities for the property owners, their families and guest.

Golf

This 9 Hole course has been consistently included in the Top 10 Nine Hole Courses in the State of Texas. It is a fine course by any international standard. There is no need to buy airline tickets to the other side of the planet to find a luxurious and exciting course. Tourists and locals alike can enjoy golfing right here in Texas. Golf fans nationwide can get domestic flights to their favorite golf course instead of heading overseas.

The Blue Lake Golf was formed in 1972 when the Blue Lake Property Owners Association purchased the course from the developer. Continuous improvements have been made over the years including a sprinkler system in 1985, enlargement of the clubhouse, and the addition of new tennis courts. In 1997 the course was connected to the effluent return water line to conserve water.

The course, although it does not have any sand or water hazards, is a challenging layout due to the rolling terrain, granite outcroppings, rough, and elevated greens. The course was designed by Joe Finger of Houston.

Two employees, a pro shop manager and a course manager, oversee the operation of the course on a daily basis. A seven-member board of directors that is elected by the membership has the overall responsibility for the Club.

Presently, there are 168 members of the Club. The Club maintains a lending library of books furnished by members, hosts numerous social activities including a monthly Cocktails and Conversation (C & C) with dinner provided by participants. The clubhouse also serves as a social center for other activities including aerobics classes, bible study classes, card games and the like.
